Rufai Alkali, Political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday told the President that some of his loyalists were hospitalized after he conceded defeat; THE CABLE reports.
Alkali said, ''We all worked hard, we were devastated with when we lost. We asked ourselves what have we done wrong? Did we shy away from our responsibility and assignment? . Some of us had to switch off our phones. Some landed in hospitals when you conceded defeat.
''We were very sad but for the first time we have a leader who sacrificed his ambition for the glory of Nigeria. The temperature then went down. Those who were praying for the division of this country were disappointed. INEC got all the money they needed and there was no interference. I wanted to summarise our bitterness, disappointment and emotions but we are also appreciative of God’s mercy'', Alkali told the President.
