The village was reportedly raided by suspected Boko Haram militants. Sporadic shooting is being heard in the area. Terrified locals are said to be fleeing from the village.
The attack comes amid a series of successful operation carried out by the Nigerian military. Within a short period the army has rescued hundreds of Boko Haram hostages from Sambisa forest, famous hideout of the sect.
However, yesterday was another dire assault was launched allegedly by Boko Haram fighters at the College of Administrative and Business Studies in Potiskum, Yobe state. At least one person was confirmed dead and 7 others injured in a suicide bombing.
