The Oba, who has been under fire over his alleged threat to the Igbos unless they voted for the APC governorship candidate in the April 11 election in the state, held the prayer at the Iga Idunganran Palace of the royal father on Lagos Island.
Akiolu insisted that the session was imperative after peaceful polls were conducted, Vanguard reports.
Additionally, he urged Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect, to assist Lagos in repairing most of the damaged federal roads in the state.
Akiolu recalled that when Buhari was in his palace during the presidential campaign, he himself complained of bad roads and vowed to help with the reconstruction if elected.
The Oba, speaking in Yoruba, said he was sure that God would give him the power to do it.
This comes amid the fresh announcement made by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos state that Akinwunmi Ambode (APC) emerged winner of the guber race. The PDP’s Jimi Agbaje personally called the winner to congratulate him on the victory.
