Several Insurgents of the Boko Haram sect have been annihilated in their hideouts and training camps in the Sambisa forest on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
Colonel Sani K. Usman, the acting Director of Public Relations of the Nigerian Army, revealed this.
He said “Troops of 7 Division Nigerian Army cleared several terrorists strong points and training camps within Sambisa forest, Borno State, Nigeria. The troops have also rescued additional women and children. They have been evacuated to a safety zone for further processing. During the encounter unfortunately we lost a soldier, while four others were wounded in action.”
Colonel Sani in his statement also said that artilleries which included armoured tanks, rocket launchers and several hand guns were also recovered from the terrorists during the raid.
Meanwhile, The Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, would on Thursday, April 30, 2015 provide more details on the ongoing counter-terrorism raid taking place in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.
