On Sunday, Cristie Schoen Codd and her husband, Joseph, were found murdered in their North Carolina home.
While authorities believe the actual date of death is March 12, the pair were found over the weekend after their families filed a missing persons report. Read more after d cut.....
To make the situation even more tragic, Cristie, who appeared on the eighth season of Food Network Star, was five months pregnant.
A spokesperson for the network said:
"Our thoughts go out to Cristie's family and friends during this difficult time."
Wow. We can't even began to imagine how the couple's loved ones must be feeling right now.
The only comfort in this horrible situation is that the perpetrator, Robert Jason Owens, was apprehended for two counts of felony first-degree murder, one felony count of breaking or entering, larceny after breaking and entering and free text felony.
Cops suspect the motive in the murders was theft — considering a laptop, jewelry, and a handgun were stolen from the Codds' home.
