Nigerian Women, what has Buhari done for you?-Patience Jonathan

Patience Jonathan, the wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, on March 16, Monday, campaigned for her spouse urging the women of the country to re-elect him for a second term.
Dame Patience spoke in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state, insisting that GEJ has done a lot of good for Nigeria and for the women of Nigeria, in particular.

According to Vanguard, the First Lady was accompanied by numerous Peoples Democratic Party women leaders, including Helen Mark, the wife of Senate President David Mark.
Mrs Patience noted that it was the first time in the history of Nigeria when a woman would be appointed Chief Justice of the Federation and President of the Court of Appeal.

Thus, she praised Goodluck Jonathan’s administration for empowering women.
“This is a government who believe in women that you are intelligent that you went to school, he appointed one of you as a Minister of Finance and the coordinating Minister of Economy.
“Also because of the confidence Mr President has for women, he has appointed one of you as a Minister of Petroleum who is now the president of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).”
Reproaching the opposition candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, Dame Patience wondered what he had done for women during his tenure (as Head of State).

“Ask them questions on what they have done for the women when they had opportunity of ruling the country, vote wisely vote for president Jonathan, don’t vote for those saying ‘I will, l will’.”
Nigeria’s First Lady also mentioned Jonathan’s achievements in the education sector and praised Governor Ayodele Fayose for for supporting women in Ekiti state.
Fayose, on his part,  said that the emergence of Goodluck Jonathan as the president was God ordained.
Over the weekend Mrs Jonathan addressed the women in Benin, Edo state. In her speech she explained that Mr Jonathan must stay for 4 more years in the office as allowed by the Constitution. She noted that “everybody is staying there for eight years. Now it’s our turn.”
