In the face of a backlash, Creflo Dollar bowed to public outcry by bringing the appeal to purchase a Gulfstream G650 to an abrupt ending.
But right as the fundraiser was closing up shop, gospel icon Kirk Franklin let Dollar have it in a new open letter calling out Creflo’s character and lack of decency.
Instead of waiting for him at the door, Franklin saved his two cents for the faith-oriented website Patheos, that hosted his essay.
He doesn’t refer to Dollar by name, but it’s clear he was included in his scathing essay about fallen values and how we sometimes idolize the wrong people.
Hear him, “When a pastor wants people to buy him a private plane while a missionary in Somalia bathes children with sores, that’s a shortage of character. When I camouflage my “greeds” to look like “needs,” that’s a shortage of character. When young students are comfortable enough to sing racial slurs on a bus while furthering their education to someday lead a corporation that may have minorities apply for jobs, that’s a shortage of character…”
Dollar is still being expected to release a statement about the backlash he received over his request of an extravagant plane.
