A doctors' surgery failed to record Julie McCabe was allergic to using the dye, despite her 20 visits, until she collapsed after using a L'Oreal product, an inquest heard today.

The 39-year-old had complained of rashes and swellings at frequent visits to the Crosshills Medical Centre, near Keighley, West Yorks.
GPs gave her creams to tackle the side effects without noting the allergy in her medical notes.

But the mum of two continued colouring her hair until she suffered a severe reaction to L'Oreal Preference on 30 October, 2011 and collapsed with breathing difficulties and suffered heart failure and brain damage.
