A few days ago it was reported that the beaded Calvin Klein dress Lupita Nyong’o rocked to the Oscar awards on Sunday night had been stolen from her hotel in Los Angeles!
Well the dress has been found.
On the red carpet at the Oscar’s the Calvin Klein dress was said to be worth $150,000 because of the expensive pearls hand beaded on it, which is why the thief made a quick dash for the dress, when he walked past Lupita’s hotel room at the London West Hollywood, saw the door ajar and the dress on the bed.
However the thief called TMZ yesterday to tell them he had returned the dress, he also said the dress was a worthless fake! He says he took 2 pearls off of the dress and took them to the garment district in downtown L.A. … where he was told the pearls were not real.
The thief took the dress back to the hotel in a garment bag that was inside a trash bag and left it on a 2nd floor bathroom adjacent to a fitness center. TMZ contacted the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. and gave them the info, they then went over to the hotel, retrieved the bag and found a garment bag with the dress inside.
The part of this story that shocks me is the lies about the dress being worth $150,000! I guess it’s not only Naija celebs that lie about their material possessions!
