KIDNAP: Police In Kogi Secure Release Of LG Director

Kogi State Police Command over the weekend secured the release of the director of local government in Adavi local council in the state, Alhaji Abdulazeez Ohere, from kidnappers, after intensive hunt.
Ohere was recently kidnapped in the evening by his abductors in his house at Agassa in Okene local government area of the state.

A statement from the Police public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Sola Collins Adebayo, said Alhaji Abdulazeez Ohere who was kidnapped on 13th February, 2015 by unknown men was released on Saturday 21st February, 2015.
He said the rescued victim was secured at about 7:30am on Saturday in Adavi area of the state, following exerted pressure mounted by the police in conjunction with other security agencies.
Other item recovered was the victim’s official white Hilux which was abandoned by the kidnappers at their den when they realised that the police pressure was getting closer to them.
The Commissioner for Police in the state, Mr Samuel Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi ,who confirmed the incident, said the victim was hale and hearty and has been re-united with his family.
“To the best of my knowledge, no ransom was paid,” he stated, warning every criminal element in the state that there would be no hiding place for them.
