In line with its cutting edge solutions to societal vices among
youths, Keep Up The Hope (KUTH) Foundation was recently launched in
FESTAC Town, Lagos. It also witnessed the kick-off of the annual KUTH
Foundation football tournament tagged FESTAC 2013.
Artistes expected to perform during the show include Basket Mouth, AY, Julius Agwu, MC Abbey, Toyin Aimaku, Lepacious Bose, W4, Crazy Legs, among others. KUTH-FF is an annual carnival that is supported by philanthropist, by Gerald Azonobo, executive president of FitzGerald Group. No less than 16 teams will compete for honours.
5th Avenue Football Club won the first edition with a cash prize of N500, 000. In this second edition, Mr. Azonobo has pledged N650,000 as winning prize while the silver medalists will go home with N4000,000 when the tourney ends on Saturday, January 26.
Third place winners shall get a cash prize of N200,000. Giving reason for the tourney as well as involvement of entertainers, KUTH Programme Director, Mr. Francis Chilaka, said: “At KUTH, we know that youths like entertainment and that is why we came up with the annual football project for them.
The foundation will explore soccer, music, talent hunt, motivational talks, among other tools, to reach out to youths.” He said: “ The foundation is a non-profit organization that has passion to create changes in the lives of youths. The foundation desires to create cutting edge solutions to societal vices among youths.
The competition is endorsed by Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) and is supported by Meelk Property Services Ltd, a member of the FitzGerald Group, Blackwater Entertainment, FitzGerald Meelk Ltd, GINE Pharma Ltd, and Meelk Energy Ltd. The event is also supported by Entertainment magazine, Snap TV, Pearl Hospitality Services, City 105.1 FM and Bite United Ltd.
